Wavre Gendarmerie
Gendarmerie were a paramilitary organization within Belgium that became a civilian police force in 1992. The branch of this organization for the town of Wavre, Belgium, sent several officers to investigate the initial reports of strange lights in the sky on the night of March 30, 1990.
A few members of this investigative team described four lights arranged in a square formation, and all were making short, jerky movements. They were flashing mostly red, then changed to blue, green, yellow, and white, but not always in the same order. Their glow gradually faded and disappeared into four separate directions around 1:30 am.
They also reported hearing a low engine noise and one seemed to have a stick coming out of one end with a turbine on it. This led many to claim they actually saw a helicopter, but wouldn't the lights have been on the whole time? How do you account for the jerky movements? What about the changing color of the lights?
The Photograph Taken During UFO Wave
The photo below was taken during the UFO wave, on the 15th of June 1990. A similar photo had been taken on the 4th of April in the same year.
Experts say that since there are no determining features in the background, or other elements of the photograph, it's impossible to calculate the size of the object or its distance from the camera.
The image was released four months after the event and its photographer is unknown, but we still think it's compelling evidence of a UFO. It matches the description given by the gendarmerie. What else could it be, if not a UFO?
